Jessica Danielle Jellema was born in 1997. Since that moment, she has yet to have as clear of a breakthrough as one has leaving the womb and entering the conscious world. Despite this, she is still searching for that eureka.
Her search has dominantly been through the scope of writing. She has been sharpening her skills for the past four years in STAC, the Student Television Arts Company, under the direction of Luke DeLalio. This is her final year. In this program, she has written various stage plays, the rare screenplay, poetry, fiction, and even a personal essay. She has had two stage plays successfully performed, as well as her poetry accepted and celebrated in two volumes of her school’s literary journal. Since this program also encourages diversity of disciplines, she has worked on visual art for four years under Richard Ganes, dipped her toes into acting, been in a few dance numbers, and even sang in an acapella group. In conjunction with her writing, she enjoys studying the anthropological, sociological, and psychological effects of pop culture, and often uses that as inspiration for her work. In the future, she hopes to continue growing in all aspects of herself, whether it be the professional act of writing or the personal act of growing as a human being. She appreciates your time spent reading this. She also appreciates you.
